scowled

Scowled

Definition: To contract the brow in an expression of displeasure

Etymology: From Middle English, probably evolved from Danish word 'skule'

Seeing the pile of clothes strewn across the room and the half-eaten packet of chips laying around the study table, Mother scowled in displeasure as she started to scream for John to come and clean his room.
